Springtimesoft and startups

 |  Community Startups

We are passionate about startups. We help develop them, mentor them and most importantly run them ourselves.

The startup space in New Zealand is thriving and we love the unique buzz that surrounds it. Startups have a unique dynamic. We’ve seen failures and successes, both our own ideas and others too. We can give you insights and first-hand experience to help you increase your chances of success.

We help early stage startups to gain momentum by coaching them through the initial phase of finding the right team, using the right tools and finding the right mentors.

We are also helping out with development resources and are currently working on a government co-funded way of getting cheap development resources to startups. We are very aware of the financial limits early stage startups have and have special rates as well as equity-based ways of helping out. A lot of the work we do in this space is, however, completely free of charge and we do it because we know that it is important for New Zealand.

Our core competencies include:

  • Business model validation (Lean Canvas)
  • Technical stack and architecture
  • Rapid deployment of iterations to product
  • Scaling

A startup needs a way to quickly try assumptions on actual customers and then iterate till it either finds the sweet spot they want to grow in or they pivot to the next niche.

We are mentoring startups in rapid prototyping, deployment automation and the cheapest possible way to run a startup from the technical requirements. We use a number of frameworks to help quickly prototype ideas and transition them into an application that is robust enough to serve as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). These are battle tested and have been used successfully with a number of products.

Lenz Gschwendtner has played a pivotal role in Springtimesoft’s work in the startup space. He is a mentor with Lightning Lab, New Zealand’s only accelerator program that is tied into the international TechStars network, a regular mentor and facilitator at Startup Weekends throughout New Zealand and also works closely with a number of startups in Wellington and Nelson.

He gained a lot of expertise running iwantmyname, a New Zealand based domain registration platform that is very popular in the US market. Prior to that, he helped to get a large domain registrar off the ground in Germany and grew it to one of the largest domain registrars in the German market.

The New Zealand startup scene is amazing and we support it as much as we can. Talk to us if you feel we can add value, or if you just want to have coffee and get feedback on your idea.
