Laura Kerrison
Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa
Laura is passionate about human-centred design and understanding people’s needs and behaviour in order to create the best possible experiences that are enjoyable and easy for the user, and meet both the business goals and technical requirements. Laura’s roles include facilitating discovery workshops, user research, persona development, prototyping and user testing, user experience and interaction design and frontend development on Symfony and other PHP frameworks. Recently Laura has worked in a product management role running an agile design and development process for Techweek NZ, and on other projects such as Oranga Tamariki Practice Centre and New Zealand Drug Foundation. Laura has a Bachelor in Design from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and a Diploma in Journalism. She is a youth mentor for Brothers in Arms and runs events on Digital Accessibility and inclusive design. She also runs an event series MUV events, and is an organising member of the community events Startup Weekend and Creative Mornings.
